RIFLE

The rifle class is the equivalent of the Advanced Handgun class while using a rifle, which is a more powerful and longer-range tool. Just as you would not bring a knife to a gunfight (as a primary weapon), you need to bring your rifle when you know that you are going into battle. The battle rifle is the Queen of personal firearms. A skilled individual with a battle rifle is truly formidable.

All advanced techniques may be taught, e.g., shooting at multiple targets while moving or from your knees or from the ground (360-degree capability). We will go as far as the skill level of the class allows. This is an advanced and demanding course that builds on the foundation previously established in the prerequisite courses.

Additionally, since we use one identical technique for both handgun and long arm, your skill level from the prerequisite handgun courses will be easily transferable to your skill with a long arm. Practice with one enhances all. The Turnipseed Technique redefines the concepts of efficient and functional in defensive shooting. It's not for everyone…Only for those who want the best.

Note: A "battle rifle" is chambered for a full powered cartridge such as the .308 Win., 30/06, or .303 British. An "assault rifle" cartridge has about half of the energy of a battle rifle cartridge. Because distances on the actual battlefield were generally less than 300 yards, the Germans originated this concept for a smaller and lighter rifle. More importantly, you have twice the number of rounds for the same weight of ammo compared to a battle rifle cartridge. Examples of typical assault rifle cartridges are the .223 Rem. and 7.62x39 Russian. Choose your tool based on an objective evaluation of your realistic needs.
